Why Visit Canada through Canada Immigration Family Sponsorship

Without a doubt, Canada is one of the best places to visit and settle down in the world. According to Canada’s government website, many people should go to its country because of its nice weather. Yeah, right. For some, it can be a nice reason to motivate them to visit, especially those who have not seen or felt snow. However, for those who are already fed up with winter chills and storms, Canada is the last place they would want to stay into.

Anyway, one of the easiest ways to enter Canada is with the Canada immigration family sponsorship program. This program has been revised and took effect on October 25, 2012. And it allows a couple (an official citizen of Canada and an alien/outsider) to live together in Canada legally, and grants permanent citizenship to the foreigner. Once the immigration office of Canada approves of the application, the foreign partner must live with his or her Canadian spouse for two years to finalize the process.

Under this program, a Canadian can become a sponsor to get his spouse, common-law, or conjugal partner to become a citizen of Canada. If they have dependent children (kids that are below legal age – adopted children are also under this description), the sponsor can also get them covered with the program. The sponsorship is not limited to spouses and children alone. A Canadian sponsor can also get his other eligible relatives to become a part of the proud (and cold) country of Canada.

Of course, those who will be naturalized or become citizens of Canada will be eligible to the perks of living in that country. To make it simple, the citizenship grant will allow them to live, study, and work in Canada without worrying about any immigration laws.

Even though the Canada immigration family sponsorship program can apply to spouse, dependent children, and relatives, the sponsor and the one being sponsored may be subjected to different processes. Technically, there are two different family sponsorship processes. The first one works with sponsored spouses and children. The other one works with eligible relatives including parents, grandparents, siblings, nephews, and grandchildren. However, the processes under the sponsorship of eligible relatives may vary depending on the relative that the sponsor will apply for in the program.

On the other hand, it is important to note that the family sponsorship for spouses and dependent children has become very strict for the past few years. Because of the prominent cases of marriage fraud, the Canadian government has taken various countermeasures to prevent people from exploiting the immigration processes of the country.

The application for Canada immigration family sponsorship can be summarized to five steps. Those steps are:
  1. Checking the eligibility of the spouse and relatives
  2. Application of the sponsor and sponsored ones
  3. Estimating and checking the time the application take before it is approved
  4. Processing the next steps after the approval
  5. Preparing for the arrival of the sponsored family members
